The Global Team then moved onto Cape Town, again to a new venue, the Crystal Towers & Spa Hotel.
Delegates had a later start only arriving at lunchtime. Their “Global work-out” was a bit more strenuous, as the breakaway rooms were not on the same floor and some “step-work” was required.
Who needs a gym membership when you have us around!! Seriously though… our various presenters gave some interesting presentations and once again Mark and his team rounded off the day with the live demonstration.
Then the real fun began….. we introduced Mark Dio into the mix and he once again split our dealers into teams – this time for “Battle of the Bands” with real equipment and props. Each team was given a song and they had to make up their band with drummer, guitarists, vocalists.
They were given time to practice and then during dinner each “band” took their turn to perform live. There was some initial trepidation, but once people donned wigs, glasses, hats it was amazing how many budding rock stars there were. Move over One Direction – our Capetonian Kenwood Dealers are in town!!
Mark then took to the stage – no not to do a solo performance…. but to announce the dealer awards and of course find out which lucky dealer would be sailing away into the sunset in Croatia. He had the five envelopes that our auditor had verified earlier in the day. As each of the envelopes were opened the five finalists came to stand at the front of the stage…
- QSO Comms
- J&B Electronics
- RFG Electronics
- IR Pope & Sons
The tension was building as each person in turn chose their prize envelope and then one by one opened their envelope…. It went down to the wire to the last envelope opened…
And the winner is…
IR Pope & Sons
Congratulations Kevin Pope!!!
